Sarah Morris Site Specific Commission – Miredo AG

INFO

Zumikon, Switzerland

Miredo AG

2021–2024

8One commissioned Sarah Morris for a project within a new residential development in Switzerland.

Sarah Morris wall painting “Detector [Spiderweb]”, 2024, is a 67 square-meter interior special commission located in a bunker-like parking garage at Miredo AG's building "Les Terrasses" in Zumikon, Switzerland. The wall painting forms part of the continuation of the artists "Spiderweb" series which began during the pandemic. Her "Spiderweb" paintings explore the temporality and movement of these delicate structures of habitation and entrapment. The unveiling coincides with Sarah Morris retrospective at the Paul Klee Museum in Bern on view until August 2024.

Sarah Morris (b. 1967) is an American artist who lives and works in New York. She is known for her diagrammatic paintings and films of cities in flux. Morris has shown extensively including recent solo exhibitions at Zentrum Paul Klee, Bern (2024); Tai Kwun Contemporary, Hong Kong (2024); M+, Hong Kong (2024);  Espace Louis Vuitton Munich (2023); the Deichtorhallen Hamburg (2023), Fondation Louis Vuitton, Paris (2014) Fondation Beyeler, Riehen (2008); Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D. C. (2002); Nationalgalerie at the Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin (2001); Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia (2000); Kunsthalle Zurich (2000) and more.
